 Show Notes:

  • The Iowa Primary is the first primary in the 2016 GOP Candidacy race, and the results could tell us everything we need to know about the eventual nominee.
  • Daniel argues that a year ago, or even just a few months ago, few would have predicted that heading into the first primary, the polls would look the way they do – and he gives his thoughts on why they do.
  • At this point, everything points to this being a two man race, but Iowa’s results could change everything – what do they mean for the rest of the primaries?

  • There is a 4th Branch of government – the unelected administrative state. Not only are they unelected but are pre-disposed to attracting staff with liberal philosophies.
  • Daniel tackles the question of whether any of the 2016 candidates are suited to cleaning house and reforming the federal departments in a significant way; ‘Who will devolve the 4th Branch?’
  • Trump: Daniel argues that his business background actually makes him a worse choice to tackle the 4th Branch because of his predisposition to administrative efficiency and compromise.

Daniel Horowitz on Twitter:

  • Daniel gives and overview of the political landscape after Obama's final #SOTU speech, heading into another debate, and the lead up to the IOWA Caucuses.
  • Daniel argues that Republicans and conservatives must vet Donal Trump as a candidate, but that there is a proper way to do so.
  • Discussing Trump from a conservative perspective has taken so long because almost no one has filled the intensity gap the way Trump has in this campaign.

Daniel Horowitz on Twitter:

  • Daniel posits the question: Will the GOP Congress and other elected officials rise to the occasion and place the proper importance on the key principles for America: Security, Sovereignty, and Society? Or will it be more of the usual - bending to every Obama whim?
  • The GOP's response to Obama has been impotent and feckless, seen best by their abdication of the Power of the Purse and their lack of ability to stem Obama's constitutional walk over on gun control.
  • He also points out that one of the few remaining leverage points the GOP has against Obama - judicial nominees - appears to be no ground that they willing to fight upon, meaning that Obama will have smooth sailing to appoint even more judges to uphold his unconstitutional policies.
  • Will 2016 be the year the GOP finally stands up and upholds principle - or - will it be more business as usual?

Daniel explains that 2015 was the year when conservatives finally started to walk away from the GOP due to betrayal after betrayal. They have started splitting up their "things" and their is a Great Divorce happening within the GOP.
